CareerHub

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data CareerHub collects when you use our Platform as a job seeker or employer, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using CareerHub, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, and some information automatically:

  • Account details — name, email, phone number, city, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
  • Profile & application data — resumes/CVs, cover letters, and other files you upload when applying to jobs.
  • Employer data — company name and job listing details you submit for publishing.
  • Usage data — pages visited, searches performed, and device/browser information, used to keep the Platform working and to improve it.
  • Payment data — when you subscribe to a plan or purchase a job boost, payment is handled by our processor, Paystack; we store the transaction reference and receipt, not your card details.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account, including email verification and password reset codes.
  • To show you relevant job listings, and to show employers relevant applicants.
  • To let seekers and employers communicate about applications, and to send status updates (e.g. "shortlisted", "rejected").
  • To process payments for subscriptions and job boosts, and send payment receipts.
  • To detect fraud, abuse, and listings that violate our Terms of Service.
  • To send service emails — verification codes, password resets, application updates, and payment receipts.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary:

  • With employers, when you apply to their job listing (your application materials and contact details relevant to that application).
  • With seekers, limited employer/company details shown on a job listing.
  • With service providers who help us run the Platform — for example Paystack for payment processing and Resend for transactional email — under their own confidentiality obligations.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of CareerHub, our users, or the public.

5. Cookies and sessions

CareerHub uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your session across our seeker, employer, and web apps. These are essential to the Platform functioning and can't be disabled while remaining signed in. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (for example, payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Access and update your account details from your settings page.
  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Withdraw consent to non-essential communications, such as marketing emails.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

8. Data security

Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text, and access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

CareerHub is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email or with a notice on the Platform before they take effect.
